![]() Tight Security at Kuala Terengganu By-ElectionPublished Jan 17th, 2009
The 36 polling centers in northeastern Terengganu state was tight as some 80,229 voters are expected to go to the polls today, to elect a new MP, with the previous one died of natural causes last year. Supporters of both side of ruling and opposition, came in droves with banners, placards and jeering at each other. For the ruling coalition, this is seat will attest their downspiral or growing popularity amongst the voters. Will it get any worst and add another defeat, after their worst performance in national polls last March. National Front coalition is fielding Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, while the Opposition is keeping their faith with Mohammad Abdul Wahid Endut who is from Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). ![]()
