![]() “I told you so” says AnwarPublished Mar 12th, 2009
Recall last year when member of Opposition trying to get their alternative budget proposal to be heard, but only to be shot down by the Barisan side. Well the Opposition is not keeping quiet and making a point of ‘I told you so’ in Parliament with Opposition de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim leading the pack. Now with the ailing economy at its worst growth in a decade and the need to inject a second RM60 billion stimulus package, Finance Minister and PM-to-be Najib Razak leadership is wavering. Anwar continued his relentless attack on the government in Parliament. He was quoted, “It is not that we don’t want to work together, but at the same time we do not forget easily. If he (Najib) is sincere, why were the views of the members of parliament not heard? Unless he is consistent, a durian should be thrown at the person holding out the olive branch. It is a necessity but we should have done it earlier. The issue now is not a question of whether or not we need the stimulus package, it is how it is managed. Under the Barisan Nasional, I do not think the stimulus package will achieve what it intends to do.” ![]()
