Barisan Nasional is making its final push to woo the fence sitters in Permatang Pasir before the by-election on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Home Minister wants to ensure the by-election campaigning on polling day abides the Election Commission’s rules.
Permatang Pauh Umno division secretary Rohaizat Othman, 38, has been chosen the Barisan Nasional candidate for the Permatang Pasir state by-election on Aug 25.
Penang PAS commissioner Salleh Man, 53, has been picked as the party’s candidate for the Permatang Pasir state by-election on Aug 25.
Permatang Pasir is set to be a one-to-one fight between PAS and Umno as the by-election officially kicks off its first day of campaigning after nomination ended at 10am on August 17, 2009.
