Penang PAS commissioner Salleh Man tallied 9,618 votes against 5,067 collected by Barisan Nasional’s Rohaizat Othman, thereby maintaining the Pakatan Rakyat’s 29-seat dominance in the Penang state assembly.
It was a case of seventh time lucky for 55-year old religious teacher, who had lost in six previous election attempts before this by-election.
