PAS Hudud Laws May Ruin Anwar’s Take-Over Plans

PAS wants to implement Hudud and Qisas laws if and when the Opposition is successful in taking over the administration of the nation.

Some have deemed hudud law and qisas law as misuse of Islamic Law, where crimes such as theft, fornication, consumption of alcohol are met by brutal punishment such as crucifixion, stoning, amputation and even flogging, all deem acceptable under Sharia Law.

DAP, part of Parti Keadilan Rakyat coalition partner has made their opinion about it and opposes it.

Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng says, “The DAP does not agree and definitely opposes the plan”.

There has yet to be any response from Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim regarding this issue, but PKR chairman Datuk Zahrain Mohamed Hashim has commented, “PAS should refer to all the component parties in Pakatan Rakyat. It’s not nice to make the decision by itself”.

PAS very own spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has no qualms about their intention to setup such law, defending that, “Hudud laws was not created by PAS but by Islamic teachings since the era of Prophet Muhammad. So, it is compulsory for Muslims who administer the country to implement the hudud laws”.

Just what we all need, confusion within the opposition ranks and a possible extremist Islamic nation, which is likely to scare off investors and tourists.
