The former deputy chief minister I Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin is likely facing charges of alleged illegal quarry activities.
With Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) just completed their investigation and awaits the prosecution next move, Pakatan Rakyat has assembled a team of lawyers to defend Fairus.
The line-up of lawyers include S. Raveen Tharan (Batu Uban), R.S.N. Rayer (Seri Delima) and Jagdeep Singh Deo (Datuk Keramat). All of which are state assemblymen.
Fairus defence stated to the media that he is willing to surrender to the MACC if required, and a show of authority “chasing after him with handcuffs” is not needed.
