MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat reads out a press statement after a central committee meeting on Saturday. He also answered questions posed by reporters.
On August 26, 2009 the MCA presidential council decided to sack deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, on the recommendation of the party’s disciplinary committee.
The reason for his expulsion from MCA was due to him tarnishing the party’s image over the disclosure in late 2007 of a secret recording showing him engaging in sex acts with his mistress.
