MCA central committee members Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho, Datuk Chong Itt Chew and Loh Seng Kok submitted 921 signed requisition forms to hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of the party.
Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek is a former Malaysian Chinese Association Deputy President, the second top post in the MCA.
After his explusion, Chua who stopped short of calling for party members to remove Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat as MCA president but called for an uprising within the party ranks.
With the move by Ong to have Chua thrown out, plans by the party Chua’s supporters to call for an extraordinary general meeting are expected to be quickly put into motion to remove Ong Tee Keat as president of MCA.
