Malaysian Protesters Will Strip Naked In Protest Over Rental HikesPublished Nov 19th, 2008
Malaysian People’s Reform Movement members will bare it all naked in protest after the government raised rental rates in Selangor. The protesters are planning to strip outside the office of Selangor Chief Minister. With the global economic crunch, the protesters are boggled at the government ‘greed’ to double the cost of rental rates where most of the tenants are poor. They now have to pay some $RM250 ($US69) per month, doubled the previous amount. The protest however with all its right intention, has raised concerns with local religious groups and police says they intent to take action if the protesters stage an illegal assembly.
