![]() Leaders of the Gerakan party threatens to quit National Front coalitionPublished Sep 29th, 2008
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s National Front coalition is set to be low on morale as there’s more dissent within the ranks of the Malaysia’s ruling coalition. Gerakan party which is a predominantly ethnic Chinese party threaten to quit the National Front if the coalition does not curb racial discrimination. United Malays National Organization has 13-party coalition and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is losing grip on it since the March election biggest loss since independence from Britain in 1957, where the party lost its 2/3 majority. Since then, there has been calls for Pak Lah’s resignation, even within the ranks. But still even if Gerakan party officials leaves the coalition, the National Front would not lose its parliamentary majority. ![]()
