The controversial eviction and demolition issue at Kampung Buah Pala continue to be tense.
Citizen journalist Chan Lilian was given to understand that majority of the villagers are not accepting the offer of a house given by the developer, Nusmetro as ex-gratia compensation. Resident association secretary, C Tamaraj said it is a cluster house and is too small for the extended families living in Kampung Buah Pala.
The deadline is today, Friday 7 August 2009 at 12 noon. Will the villagers accept or are they going to lose their current homes, with no ex-gratia compensation if they refused?
