The government will act responsibly and swiftly to address any eventuality to safeguard the interest of the people and the nation.
Malaysia for a long time has called for an overhaul and re-examination of the global financial system. We hope the international community led by the United States will now respond positively to this urgent need”
The Malaysian economy is set to cut its growth target of to 5.7 percent this year, from the current 5.5, if the global crunch worsens. If the financial bailout plan is rejected yet again, a collapse of the U.S. financial system is in the cards, which would then affect Malaysia economy
