Well I was reading Radio Australia radio section transcript of podcast between presenter Sen Lam and the invited speaker, Steven Gan, the editor-in-chief, Malaysiakini.com

The number one political site in Malaysia has insights and was spot on similar with my own personal views on the local political development

In all despite the no-show for Anwar’s 16th deadline, the opposition is growing strong as the day passes while there’s more dissension within the BN ranks. It won’t be long there will be wide spread chaos within the ruling coalition and how worse it could get, it all depends when Najib takes over

Here’s a few excerpt

Sen Lam: Indeed, the PR September 16th deadline as set by Anwar Ibrahim came and went. Anwar Ibrahim is still not the prime minister. What is your view? Do you think he has the numbers and is he still focused on unseating the government?

Steven Gan: He’s definitely still focused on unseating the government and he kept on saying that his plans are still on track, though of course he was not able to execute his takeover on September 16th, he’s put it back perhaps to end of this year. But I think that whether he has the numbers or not, I think he will be the only one who has privy the information, though of course in public, he has been the thing he has the numbers.

Sen Lam: And Steven Gan, much has been made of the need for the ruling UMNO Party, the Malay UMNO Party to renew or rejuvenate itself. But what about the Barisan Nasional, the national coalition itself. Do you think the success of Pakatan might spell the end of B-N, given that Pakatan itself also encompasses the three different races?

Steven Gan: Yes, I think much has been made about the fragility of the Pakatan Rakyat Coalition. In fact I would argue that the Barisan Nasional Coalition is much more fragile. You can see a lot more bickering among the different parties, within the ruling coalition. Definitely, there are a lot more divisions that are coming out and UMNO is under siege internally in a sense that they are having party polls coming up in about six months time. They are having huge problems dealing with dissension among some of their Coalition partners. So I think that it’s having much of a problem there. And really Anwar would be one of the very few Opposition leaders who can keep the true different parties together.
