Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi says that the barisan nasional loss to PAS at the Kuala Terengganu by-election doesn’t mean that the party will stop serving and help the people in the area.
He was commenting to the media during his six day official visit to the Middle East which comprises of United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.
Pak Lah congratulated the PAS party and hope to seek the ‘postmortem’ regarding the reason behind the party loss.

“For BN and Umno, we will continue to serve the people in the constituency particularly because we regard the result as not a decision because of which we will forget the constituency. Although he (Wan Farid) was not elected as a member of Parliament, he would continue to render his services and extend whatever help needed by the people.
When I received the news, definitely it saddened me. But what is important, BN and Umno should accept the verdict of the people. Let us have the report as soon as possible to enable us to know what had actually happened.
And as such we can take remedial measures quickly to enable us to know the problems, what the people were not happy about our party or there were other problems, so that we can give due attention and resolve them quickly”
