Will it be the end of the road for our de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim? His trial starts July 8th
With the DNA law passed just yesterday, look like Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has another problem on his hand to battle with.
But the de facto leader was optimistic, and was quoted, “It’s a political malicious campaign. Nothing beyond that. We have to fight them with or without the bill.”
The sodomy trial is scheduled to start July 8th.
The government fired their salvo of reply on the DNA bill, which was seemed rushed just for this trial, “It is never the intention of the government to have a bill just to take vengeance on any individual. It is a coincidence.”
If convicted, Anwar faces 20 years of jail-time. Anwar has denied the charge, and claims its politically motivated by the government.
The government on their part has denied Anwar’s claims of course.
