Anwar Ibrahim says his sodomy trial is a farce
Malaysian opposition supremo party leader Anwar Ibrahim has called his sodomy trial a farce and asked the court to throw out the case.
Anwar in the light of the medical reports that stated no injuries was found on his former aide, Saiful Bukhari Azlan, he has submitted a petition to the High Court on Wednesday, stating it’s all a ploy to destroy his political career.
Anwar’s lawyer Sankara Nair was quoted, “The charge is a travesty, a complete farce and has absolutely no basis whatsoever, as there is no case against our client.”
Anwar Ibrahim faces charges for allegedly sodomising his 23 year old former assistant, where the trial is set to begin this July 1st.
He faces 20 years behind bars if convicted.
