Speaking to the media recently, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says that his Pakatan Rakyat is based on mutual oath of the leaders of DAP, PAS and PKR.

“There are people who voiced their concern because the Pakatan government pact in Selangor may jeopardise the position of Islam and the Malays. I want to state here that, as agreed by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and I, the matter of Bahasa Melayu as the national language, the Malay and Bumiputera special privileges, the sovereignty of the Malay rulers and Islam as the official religion, are matters which can never be re-negotiated”
