Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim sodomy case application and trial starts 9.30am local time.
He is charged for allegedly sodomizing his former volunteer aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 24, about a year ago.
The high-profile Malaysian sodomy trial part duex is about to start, and so does the rising tension that could arise from the government and opposition ranks and supporters.
Although it will be a case in the media spotlight, experts believes that the mass clashes seen back in 1998 when Anwar was sacked and charged with sodomy and corruption charges is highly unlikely.
