On June 29, 2008, online news portal Malaysiakini reported that an aide of Anwar Ibrahim had lodged a police report claiming that he had been sodomised by Anwar.
The news has since been updated with reports that SMS messages are being distributed claiming that the person who made the report is Anwar’s aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who was arrested and allegedly forced to make a false confession.
