Abdullah Badawi On Zaid Sacking “It Was Necessary”Published Dec 5th, 2008
Prime Minister and UMNO President Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi says the former law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim was “not unusual”. He cited, “The decision has been made, it was a normal decision and “it was necessary”. Pak Lah says an appeal will not be entertained. He however extends his invitation that the former law minister is welcomed to attend any UMNO functions if invited. This new scandal started when Zaid attended PKR national congress and DAP victory dinner event. Ever since Zaid quit his minister post in September, there have been speculations that he was to join the Opposition, but Zaid is denying any links to him to any political seats, instead wanting to focus on his book and to remain independent.
